NOTE: It is smart to think of how you pack as we will be staying for the next two nights in different hotels and you don’t want to have to do a large amount of packing/unpacking.  I will likely use my backpack to simplify that process.

10:00 – 12:30 Free to explore Bacharach or leave early for Duesseldorf

Saturday Morning Optional Excursion
Trip to Burg Rheinfels, which is the largest castle ruins on the Rhein.  There are views and lots of tunnels and courtyards to explore.  Additionally, St. Goar is a beautiful town and the best Stein store on the Rhein is there.

Depart St. Goar @ 12:19 (arrive in Bacharach at 12:30)

Saturday Morning Option Travel Plan
Dr. Zondag will accompany a group up to Düsseldorf earlier than the train times below.  This would be for those who would prefer the bigger city shopping and recreation over the quiet of Bacharach.  Your rooms won’t be ready but you can store your luggage at the hotel and explore Düsseldorf.  The trains for this are: depart Bacharach @ 10:28, arrive Koblenz @ 11:08.  Briskly change to RE 10516 departing Koblenz @ 11:16 and arriving in Duesseldorf at 13:01.  The change in Koblenz should occur on the same platform (2 South to 2 North), so that should make the 8 minute transfer time work.
